As a Homeschool family with one income, there are sacrifices we have to make to uphold this lifestyle. And sometimes they suck. Like not taking vacations. Or taking the kids to see a play they've been begging to see. Or going to see a band I've always wanted to see live. Or eating at that expensive restaurant, or even the not so expensive one. Or buying my husband a gift he's hinted about. Or many other things I could mention. All these things are of course "extras." But really really nice extras that would be thoroughly enjoyed by all.
And though sometimes I get saddened because we can't do all the things we'd like to do or give the kids all the things they ask for, I know that it's all worth it. Being able to be home with them and get to experience all the daily things far outweigh the big events that we miss out on. They will be better for it and so will I. At least that's my hope.
Now I need hubby to buy a lottery ticket on his way home!
